Cabaret Room - "Raising Confident Girls in Today's World" with Mark Loewen
This workshop will address challenges that are specific to women and girls in today's world. We can prepare and support our daughters as they respond to the strong, often negative messages that are perpetuated by our culture. This workshop will also specifically talk to parents who don't identify as female or who may not have experienced the same pressures growing up.
Paramount Room (Sessions 1 & 2) - "Yoga for Mind and Body" with Michael Lindsay, certified Bikram Yoga Instructor.
Many parents find it a challenge to make time for their own health and wellness. In the spirit of empowerment and fun during Family Week, treat yourself to this 90-minute yoga class designed for both beginners and regular practitioners. No prior yoga experience is necessary, as each individual performs each posture to their own ability and comfort level. This class will include:
- A beginning breathing exercise
- 13 standing postures, each repeated twice
- 13 floor postures, each repeated twice
- An ending breathing exercise
The goal of this class is to provide an opportunity to experience the many powerful benefits of a yoga practice, which can include a great cardiovascular workout, improved strength, flexibility, and balance, and a keen inner focus. Come join us and reward your entire being!
