Session 1 | 10:30 - 11:15 am

Paramount Room - "The 7 Guiding Principles of No-Yell™ Parenting" with Kathy Whithman

Are you at your wit's end because your child won’t listen to you, your kids are constantly fighting with each other, there are frequent tantrums, power struggles at bedtime, or endless fights over screen time? In this workshop, you’ll learn the 7 guiding principles of No-Yell™ parenting. Rather than a technique, these principles - rooted in brain science and family system dynamics - function like an internal guidance system to empower you to make the best parenting choices, avoid power struggles, and nurture the kind of relationship you want with your child - one that will take you through the teen years and beyond.

Cabaret Room - "Start With Hello" and "Say Something" with Joe Cronin

Joe Cronin will be bringing aspects of two youth-oriented workshops from Sandy Hook Promise to Family Week's Parent Cafés. ""Start With Hello"" focuses on social isolation and creating cultures of inclusion in schools. ""Say Something"" teaches about how to look for signs, especially in social media, of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others. This workshop is from 10:30 - 11:15 am (Start with Hello) and from 11:15 am - 12 pm (Say Something).
